GCSE Revision Camp 2011...
Following the success of previous years, A Star English is running a GCSE Revision Camp during the first week of the Easter holidays; between the thirteenth and the fifteenth of April. The sessions are divided into three hour slots and will take place in the Badger Farm community centre, which is located at the back of the Sainsbury’s car park. Students may choose to attend between one and six sessions, depending upon their individual requirements. (Please see enclosed timetable for details.)
A Star English believe that a group learning environment creates opportunities for active learning, which is well known for allowing memory to retain the information. The difficulty with most group learning is that attention is not as focused as in a one to one learning environment. Our camps aim to overcome this by a high staff to student ratio, ensuring that individual needs are also met.
The sessions will be run by at least two of our tutors at all times and will contain dynamic and totally focused activities which will boost A Star English’s scheme of one to one private tuition. These group sessions will correspond directly with the GCSE examinations set by the AQA exam board, thus preparing and familiarizing students with the content of the exams.
The students will each be provided with a revision folder for work within the camp and then to take away to use before the final push!
We have tried to keep the costs to a reasonable level and the following prices and reductions will apply: In order to secure your place payments must be made in advance.
* One or two sessions - £40 per session
* Between three and six sessions - £35 per session
